When it comes to cars and their performance in general, there is nothing quite enthralling and electrifying than speed. There are many ways to measure automotive excellence, but top speed is the one everybody  cares about the most. Here is the list of  top 10 fastest cars in the world.

10. ASTON MARTIN ONE-77  – (220 MPH)

The Aston Martin One-77 is a two-door coupe built by the British car manufacturer Aston Martin. The One-77 is the most extreme road-going Aston ever, and the fastest. One-77 is a completely different beast which sports a 7.3-Liter V12 Engine producing 750 HP and 800 lb-ft torque. Its character is almost as special as its 220 mph top speed and limited production run.

Its top speed is about 238 mph.

The ST1 engine has been twincharged—turbocharged and supercharged—to the tune of 1104 hp and 1055 lb-ft of torque.

Its CCR reached 242 mph at Italy’s Nardo Ring in 2005  and it was among the trendsetters for faster supercars, after McLaren and Ferrari of course. It featured a 4.7-liter V8 of the company’s own design, a carbon-fiber body, and not much in the way of electronic aids.

The SSC Ultimate Aero held the title of the fastest production car in the world, according to the Guinness World Records, from 2007 (when it was officially timed at 256.14 mph until the introduction of the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport in 2010. It has a top speed of 256 mph, with its beast of an engine the vehicle can easily hit 200 mph in under 16 seconds.

The 9ff GT9 is a sports car based loosely on the Porsche 911, built by German tuning company 9ff.  It is fitted and modified with a 4.0-Liter Flat 6 Engine which enables the vehicle to produce an impressive horsepower of 1,120 and torque of 910 lb-ft. It has a top speed of almost  257 mph.

The Koenigsegg Agera RS is officially the fastest car in the world with a top speed of over 273 mph, faster than any other supercar you will find on the market today. The Agera is powered by an in-house developed 5.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine which produces 701 kW (940 hp) at 6900 rpm and 1,100 N.m (810 lb. ft) of torque at 4000 rpm.
